This morning was just for breakfast, packing and walking to
the Bergen Train Station. It has been a
most enjoyable place to stay and we are very glad we chose to visit Bergen.
The train station was an exceptionally good station as it had
its very own wool store. Den suggested I
have a look – who can resist an offer like that - so off I went to fill in the
½ hour we had to wait. I bought some
more very pretty wool.
The train ride took us through some very beautiful areas. Waterfalls, huge snow topped mountains,
villages all swept past us at a furious pace.
In just over an hour we arrived at Voss.
Our Hotel was just a short stroll from the station –
Fleischer’s Hotel built in 1864. We have
a beautiful view from our room of a very large lake with mountains all
around.
We went for a walk into the town – more like a country village
compared to Bergen – but special in its own way. Some lunch at one of the bakeries then
wandered back to the Hotel via the park.
It is a popular place for para gliding and hang gliding – I assured Den
that I wouldn’t be taking part.
So back to our room for a cuppa and a rest.
Dinner was a smorgasbord in the huge Dining Room. We then made a cuppa and went to sit in the
lounge. We met a couple from Sydney and
so had a fun time exchanging stories of different travel adventures.
